CELEBRITY R&B RECORDING ARTIST
JON JON HARRELD OF TROOP
Featured Solo Performance & Special Presentation

The Serenity K Gold Music Awards Gala — The First Key proudly welcomes celebrity R&B recording artist Jon Jon Harreld, also known as Jon Jon of the popular R&B group TROOP, for a featured solo performance and special presentation at The Beverly Hilton on September 18, 2027.

Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Jon Jon's musical journey began at just six years old, singing gospel alongside his mother, brother, and sisters in church. By age eight, his passion for music had expanded to percussion, where he began playing bongos and drums for his congregation. Those early gospel roots helped shape the powerful and soulful vocal style that would eventually become an important part of his identity as an R&B entertainer. His distinctive voice has drawn comparisons to legendary vocalists including Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, Michael McDonald, and Philip Bailey.

As an original member of TROOP — Total Respect of Other People, Jon Jon became part of one of R&B's memorable vocal groups, contributing to a musical legacy that includes favorites such as “Mamacita,” “Spread My Wings,” “All I Do Is Think of You,” and “Sweet November.” Throughout his career, Jon Jon has remained appreciative of the audiences who supported TROOP's success and his individual journey, consistently recognizing the importance of the fans who have continued to embrace the music.

Jon Jon's entertainment career has also extended beyond the recording studio and concert stage into film and theater. His biography includes an appearance in the Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall comedy Coming to America, as well as stage work in Treat Her Like a Lady, directed by Roy Fegan. TROOP also appeared in New Jack City, starring Wesley Snipes and Ice-T, performing “For the Love of Money/Living for the City” alongside LeVert and Queen Latifah.

His artistry has also extended beyond TROOP through solo music. Among Jon Jon's early solo work was a contribution associated with the Bangin' on Wax project, further demonstrating a career that has crossed different musical spaces while maintaining the soulful vocal foundation for which he is known.

Jon Jon's journey has also come full circle to the gospel foundation where his love of music began. Today, he is a tenor with Radio Free Voices, the performance choir founded by Stevie Wonder. Radio Free Voices has performed alongside major artists including Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber, Childish Gambino, and Tye Tribbett, and Jon Jon is featured as a soloist on the choir's recording “I Know It Was the Blood.”

At The First Key, Jon Jon will step into the spotlight as a Celebrity R&B Recording Artist and Special Guest Performer, delivering a featured solo selection and introducing a special presentation during an evening devoted to music, achievement, influence, and legacy.
